A unique feature of the event will be the use of Gordon River Cruises’ Lady Jane Franklin II and the West Coast Wilderness Railway to transport competitors to otherwise inaccessible areas of the course.

Similar in format to the Freycinet Lodge Challenge, people can compete as individuals, teams of two or teams of four.

On the first day, we will take competitors up the Gordon River on the Lady Jane Franklin II to Heritage Landing, where the kayakers will complete a 14km out-and-back leg . Competitors will then re-board Lady Jane Franklin II to travel to the abandoned mining port town of Pillinger (since reclaimed by the rainforest) for the run leg along the Bird River Track. The following day, competitors will cycle 30km from Strahan to Rinadeena station, where they will take the West Coast Wilderness Railway train to Lower Landing.

At Lower Landing, they will complete a 22km mountain bike leg before returning to Strahan on the West Coast Wilderness Railway for the kayak and run legs.
