Helly Hansen Sponsor TrailPlus One-Day Series

TrailPlus has announced a new three-year partnership with outdoor brand Helly Hansen, for its one-day adventure race series – now titled the Helly Hansen Adventure Challenge Series.

The three, one day races for teams of three, feature a unique three-way mix of trail running, mountain biking and kayak canoeing, taking between three-five hours for most of the teams to complete.

Emma Russell, Marketing Manager at Helly Hansen, says, “The adventure race series really captures the essence of the Helly Hansen brand, it’s about authentic adventure, multi-sport action, plus it’s a fun experience and accessible to all.”

The series is already well-established and popular, and was title sponsored by Sweatshop last year. (They are still involved this year as well.)

The dates and venues are:

· 3 September: Pippingford Park Palavar, East Sussex
· 15 October: Woolmer Forest Fervour, Hampshire
· 3 December: Weavers Down Winter Warmer, Hampshire

Each event in the series includes a 10km off-road run, 25km of mountain biking over stunning tracks and trails, and 1.5 km of flat-water, kayak canoeing in an inflatable kayak. The exact order of activities is not revealed until the competitors arrive at the venue.

The route is a marked journey, so competitors do not need to worry about navigation, however, they will face a number of special challenges, and they must stay together as a team throughout the race.

Up to 150 teams of three are expected to take part and the team entry price is £120 per event and includes all necessary equipment, except for mountain bike and helmet (bring your own or hire in advance). Discounts are available for entering more than one race venue.
