Open Adventure 2007
21.11.2006

The 2007 series promises five events in the familiar format of mountain biking, running and navigation set in five new locations for pairs and solos. Each event involves competitors visiting as many points as possible by foot and MTB in the five hours available, providing a challenge for some of the top racers in the country as well as beginners to the sport.
The events have a reputation of pulling together a pretty special prize pool, with £5000 worth of prizes up for grabs from event sponsors its not surprising competitors go away smiling.
Event Director James Thurlow commented, \"The races are proving very popular with the number of competitors increasing at each event. We have therefore had to find bigger venues. Its great because it forces us to look for new locations whilst still maintaining our high standard of course setting\".
The dates and venues for the year ahead are;
21st January Hebden Bridge (South Pennines)
11th March Sutton Bank (York Moors)
13th May Keswick (North Lakes)
30th September Grassington (Yorkshire Dales)
25th November Coniston (South Lakes)
For the series rankings competitors are ranked by the best three scores during the year and entries for the 2007 series open on the 27th November.
There has been tough competition throughout 2006 in all of the categories and it’s not always been the fastest who have won. There are still this year’s series prizes to decide as well, in the final even in the Yorkshire Dales on Nov. 26th.
