Odyssey One Day Extreme Early Qualifier for the 2007 USARA National Championship

Teams can look forward to 30 hours of racing covering almost 90 miles of varied terrain if their navigation is good, could be longer, if not. Competitors will: mountain bike between 35-55 miles on trails, fire roads and pavement; trail running/hiking 15-25 miles on single track and fire roads; Orienteering course of 6-10 hours; paddling on Class I-II whitewater for 10-20 miles. The team with the fastest time during the trail running section will be rewarded with a 30 time credit.

The Odyssey One Day Xtreme will start under the arch of beautiful Natural Bridge, Virginia, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Teams of 2, 3 and 4 will navigate, mountain bike, paddle and trek their way through historic Jefferson National Forest while battling the elements of Mother Nature. Talented navigators will sail through the extensive orienteering portion of the course while strong trail runners will gain time in the mountain run time trial.
Bring the family! While you race your family can enjoy historic Natural Bridge. The area offers plenty of activities for the weekend with 300 miles of hiking trails, caverns, a Monacan village, wax museum, zoo, and even a Stone Henge replica! Nearby Lexington, Virginia is home to VMI and Washington & Lee, offering the comforts of a college town combined with a multitude of historic sites including the graves of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.
Early registration closes on December 14 and online registration will close on January 10, 2007. Race Day registration is available.
