A Dynamic New Year

The new name and logo was in evidence at the last race of the year in the Chilterns recently and the company website is now also under a new name at dynamicadventureracing.co.uk. (The old address is inactive.)
There are 12 one-day races for 2004 to be held on six weekends, on alternate months starting in January. (The first event of 2004 is January 24/25th so it’s not too far away.) All the venues are in the south of England.
On Saturdays they will hold the new Dynamic Adventure Racing Plus series, which is aimed at racers with some experience, though they are still accessible to those new to the sport. These will involve 18 run & 18 bike checkpoints, with 8 hours to do as many as possible and the option to start with either the run or the bike stage. There will be no time out between stages though. The races are open to solos, pairs and mixed teams of 3, but only the teams will be able to qualify for the prize money now on offer. There is £800 to split between the top 3 teams of the series (best 4 scores to count)
The established Dynamic Adventure Racing events will take place at the same venues on the Sundays. These will remain a mix of training/racing, well suited to beginners with plenty of advice and encouragement on hand for those new to adventure racing. The winter events will include an optional night navigation stage.

Dynamic Adventure Racing are also planning two residential training weekends, in June and October. These will primarily be for newcomers/beginners to adventure racing and intermediates looking to extend their skills and knowledge. The aim is to enable participants to compete in 1-2 day races, and provide a rare opportunity to develop the necessary skills to steer a Sevylor in a straight line! (ACE Races are not running training courses in the UK in 2004, and will be referring anyone interested to these courses, so it might be advisable to book up early.)
The courses will include training on navigation, running, racing at night, canoeing (Sevylors), Mtb, nutrition and kit, and some of the expert knowledge will come from Team Saab Salomon, who will be assisting over the weekend, passing on some of the skills and experience they’ve learned at the very highest level of competition.
