Accelerate Team up with Vlad the Impaler Again

Team Accelerate will once again be involved in the PowerBar Three Peaks Yacht Race and will be providing athletes to one of the 2007 favourites ‘Vlad the Impaler’.

Confirming the 2007 Team Vlad crew, skipper and boat owner Greg Marsh announced a formidable and experienced line up to take on one of the countries, oldest and most demanding races. Joining Greg on board will be experienced sail-boat racing specialists Ric Searle and Will Appleby. Vlad finished in 1st place in 2005 and 2nd spot in 2006 and both Ric and Will have raced with ‘Abbeydale Moonshine’ and achieved top three placings in past events.

Joining the three accomplished yachtsman will be Team Accelerate’s Keith Read who has been involved with Greg and Vlad for the last two years. Running alongside Keith will be recent team signing Adam Marcinowicz. Adam currently lives in the Lake District and is used to the challenges posed by sleep deprivation and racing when tired as he recently achieved a podium position in the Scott Dunn Polar Challenge, a race to the North Pole. Adam has also been involved in sail racing and looks forward to the challenge the event poses.

Greg Marsh, said “The relationship with Team Accelerate has always been good and the required training time being put in by all the crew demonstrates everyones determination to achieve a good result again”. Read was keen to point out that after the last two years racing with Greg he must be completely crazy to have to start learning all those ‘nautical terms’ again.
