Open Adventure Endurance Series Kicks Off in Keswick
09.05.2007

The race is also the first of the Open Adventure Endurance Series, which is creating a couple of firsts for UK racing. The series comprises the Keswick Open5, the new Open12 on June 23/24 in the Yorkshire Dales and the Open24 which will be back in the Lakes on July 28/29.
The Open12 is believed to be the UK’s first 12 hour race, perfect for those who want more than a 5 hour race but are not quite ready to move up to a 24 hour event yet. It will have a similar format to the Open24, with running and biking as the core events and the promise of some high adrenalin ‘extras’ like abseiling, caving, white water paddling, which you’d normally expect to find on a longer race. Its open to pairs at a cost of £75 per person
The Open24 is also the only non-stop 24 hour adventure race in the calendar and the new 3 race endurance series offers the unique prospect of a series of 3 very different races. (All other series are over the same distance/time at each event.)
There are discounts for those committing to the series, but no need to pre-register, you just have to be sure to be racing as a pair in Keswick this coming weekend.
If the idea of a series with lots of adrenalin, which gradually takes you further and further out of the comfort zone appeals, all the details are on www.openadventure.com.
