The North Face Team Prepare for the World Champs
Robyn Ferrar / 18.05.2007

With a course set by Tom Gibbs they knew they had their work cut out for them. However, having entered 3 of the 7 categories they won them all and walked away top-scorers for the day with Alli Northcott and Cas Van Aardenne winning solo categories and Anthony Emmett and Mark Chryssanthou winning the male pairs.
Now, having done all they can do to prepare physically, The North Face Team will spend this week neck-deep in kit as preparation for their epic journey shifts into a new gear.
They will certainly be well supported. Their title sponsor has provided for all their clothing and footwear needs. The team were also delighted to secure some key equipment sponsors to take care of almost everything else, all of whom will be crucial to their performance in the race. They are as follows:
Peak UK – Kayaking accessories
Giant – Top of the range Giant Anthem Zero Mountain Bikes
Silva – Lighting and navigation equipment
Eat Natural – Race nutrition
As of this weekend, many of the top teams in the world will start to make their way to Fort William, Scotland. Some won’t make it to the start line, and many more won’t make the finish line.
The North Face Team can only hope that their experience of racing in the UK, the Wilderness ARC, and last years World Champs (where they finished 10th) will be enough of an advantage to ensure they’re amongst the finishers, and do their sponsors proud.
