Sam Maffett / 29.08.2007

With a terrific history for hosting major sporting events, the Forster community has eagerly embraced the new Anaconda Adventure Race and with a spectacular course and incredible scenery this race is set to top the lot!
The Forster Anaconda Adventure Race will be held over two days of lung busting fun with a separate, and equally stunning course being set for each day for individuals and teams!
Saturday’s race includes:
- 3km Team Run
- 1.9km 2XU Ocean Swim
- 17km Spirit Ocean Paddle
- 15km Continental Mountain Bike
- 11km Keen Trail Run
Then Sunday delivers another set of challenges with a:
- 1.9km 2XU swim
- 16km Keen Trail Run
- 29km Continental Mountain Bike
- 13km Spirit Lake Paddle
- 3km Team Run to finish it off together
Entrants can choose to race on both days or do JUST THE SUNDAY COURSE for those not quite up to the whole thing… and don’t forget you can also do the event as an individual (doing all legs) or as a relay team of up to 4 people where you do one leg each day!
Former surf ironman Guy Andrews won the first round of the National Series at the Gold Coast saying in a recent news paper interview:
“I train for four hours every weekday and up to eight hours on weekends, doing all the core disciplines including swimming, mountain biking, running and paddling,†Andrews said.
“What I like best about adventure racing is the variety of locations and multiple disciplines. I compete in about 15 events around the world every year, some team-based as well as solo,†he added.
