XPD Heads for the High Country
05.09.2007

Race Director Craig Bycroft said; “Each edition of XPD we look for different and exciting locations to attract and challenge competitors. The High Country has a tradition of great adventure and will offer a totally different experience to all the previous XPD's". Dates have been set for November 2008.
Competitors will journey through the highlights of the Australian High Country. Some of these experiences will include grand views of some of Australia's highest mountains; flat and white water paddling on crystal clear streams and rivers fed by melting winter snow; exploring the alpine forests of snowgum and sub-alpine ash and tall mountain gums; stops at historic gold rush towns; and crisp mountain air while dangling from ropes on exposed high country cliff faces.
Up to 100 teams of four athletes will travel from Australia and overseas to embark on this expedition. They will be unsupported over their 700+km journey as they race day and night on a course involving stages of trekking, mountain biking, lake and white water kayaking and roping. Entries open Sunday 3rd February 2008 at 0900 AEST and like previous editions are expected to sell out quickly.
As a member of the AR World Series, XPD is a qualifying event for the Adventure Race World Championship. The AR World Series is an international circuit of premiere adventure races representing 10 countries and creating a 12 month calendar of professional events around the world.
