Ussher to defend Coast to Coast title in Trinidad

Stage one of the five stage event will consist of a 1.4km run before competitors transition to a 37km bicycle ride to Matelot. The second and final stage of the first day will see competitors complete a 32km run ending at Blanchisseuse.
The second day of competition will start at 5.30am with Stage three being a 58km bicycle ride to Diego Martin North Post followed by Stage four which is an 8km run ending at Macqueripe. The fifth stage will see competitors undertake a gruelling 30km paddle ending at Williams Bay.
Returning for the 2007 race are defending men and women’s champion Richard and Elina Ussher from New Zealand. Top South African Multi-Sporter, Martin Dreyer will be making his first appearance at the competition alongside a host of foreign competitors from Canada, England, Scotland, United States as well as local Multi-Sporters.
This year a total of US$10,000 in cash prizes will be at stake with the overall winner receiving US$3,000. If the overall winner is male the first female will receive US$1,500, the second US$1,000 and the third US$750, while the second male would receive US$1,000 and the third US$750.
The first local person to finish the race would receive a trip to New Zealand to compete with the world’s best in their state Coast to Coast event. In the relay category the team winning the event would receive US$1,500, runner-up US$1,000 and third US$750.
