France’s new Raid CanéO Nature
30.10.2007

An adventure race expert with strong values
After years spent travelling the world, Gérard Fusil, a journalist and creator of Raid Gauloises, Elf Authentique Aventure, Réunion d’Aventures and Oman Adventure, is convinced that France is a favourite spot for adventure sports enthusiasts: “due to its incredibly varied natural environment, and its historic and natural heritage, France never ceases to amaze those who like getting off the beaten track. One of the objectives of this new challenge will be to discover little known areas of France.â€
CanéO, the natural drink at the heart of the event
CanéO, the natural plant-based organic drink, is the leading product in its segment and has all the assets needed to rise to the adventure challenge! Adventurous, CanéO gets off the beaten track, going against sodas and sweetened diet drinks, and offers a new taste experience in the alcohol-free soft drinks sector! Healthy and revitalising, in order to be nutritious CanéO draws on nature, using the polyphenols contained in plants, which are vital for the body. CanéO has tonic-like properties and is slightly sparkling, making it the perfect drink to accompany these competitors in their sporting feats.
Sports adventure races: a physical, cultural and personal adventure
Another of the organisers’ aims is to reestablish the pedigree of adventure sports. The teams that will line up on the start line will be made up of the best world adventure race specialists, as well as less seasoned but equally passionate competitors. The enjoyment of meeting others, respecting the environment, and a cultural exchange will go hand-in-hand with the sheer exaltation of the effort and spirit of competition. On the race programme: hiking – orientation, sea kayaking, mountain biking, sailing, horse riding, rollerblading and canyoning…so there’s something for everyone!
Paris – Marseille, with some detours along the way!
The first Raid CanéO Nature will leave the Paris Plage event on the quayside in Paris and will end in the mythical Port of Marseille. The course will stretch across France for 900km, with the organisers confirming that it will surprise all those who believe that they know the country well.
The Raid CanéO Nature teams will be made up of four competitors, of whom at least one must be female, and of two support staff, who will look after the team’s logistics at the authorised access points. Raid CanéO Nature will require participants to have basic knowledge of safety requirements.
