Subaru Primal Quest Entries Open

The opening date for entries for the third Subaru Primal Quest is March 1st, and there are now more ways to get into the race, which was heavily oversubscribed in 2003.

If you want to join most of the world’s top teams in the Pacific Northwest next September there are several ways into the race, but whichever one you take you have to register your team on the web site between March 1st and 14th. Registration is open for 2 weeks only, but the lottery for places is independent of your entry date ... so as long as you enter before the 14th there is no rush. No doubt the organizers want to avoid everyone registering on the first. (Last year the web site had problems as it was overwhelmed by the level of interest!)

As previously announced the top 10 teams from last year have a place available to them, as do teams from the race’s Athlete’s Advisory Board. There are also 20 places out of the 125 available keep aside for international (non U.S.) teams. There is likely to be fierce competition for these too, with top teams from many nations putting their case for inclusion. There are also two qualifying races this year, the Cal-Eco Finals and the Florida Coast-to-Coast.

The timetable of events over the coming 3 weeks will be as follows:

1. March 1-14th. Team Captains Register.
2. Primal Quest runs lottery and reviews international team entry submissions (International Team Entry\'s passport/copy must be submitted before March 14th)
3. March 15th. The first payment of $3750.USD is processed – (no refunds will be provided after this).
4. March 19th. Primal Quest posts and distributes Team Entry Status.
