ARWorld Championships to be held in September 2008

The 2008 Adventure Racing World Championships, which will be hosted by Ecomotion/Pro will be held between 15th and 30th September next year, although the final dates are not yet confirmed. Brazil will host, for the first time, the world’s premier adventure racing competition.

In order to create the best championship ever, the organization has already set to work and the Race Director will visit a number of venues next week, all of them keen to receive the race, which is intended to be around 600km in length.

"We don’t have any time to loose,” explains director of Ecomotion Outdoor Sports Marketing, Said Aiach Neto. “We are going to evaluate all the regions which showed interest in hosting Ecomotion/Pro 2008, keeping in mind landscape conditions, access, infra structure and support from the government",

The exact date will be announced by the beginning of 2008, as well as the region chosen for the race. Entries will then open by February next year.

All the top AR Teams are expected to take part in the race, following the strongest ever international entry this year. Ecomotion/Pro 2007 in Buzios received five out of the seven best teams in the last World Championships in Scotland: Wilsa Sport Helly Hansen/FRA, Orionhealth.com/NZ, Buff Coolmax/Spain, Merrell Wigwam/NZ and Team Sole/USA, and also the top 10 Brazilian Teams.
