SteelSports Martin Dies Adventure Race Gets New Name for 2008

Rodney Skiles, Race Director with SteelSports, has announced that the race formerly known as the Martin Dies Adventure Race has been renamed the Frozen Gator Adventure Race for 2008. SteelSports just wanted to spice things up a bit; new format plus new race equals new name.

The Martin Dies Jr. State Park will play host to this race. This area was hit hard by the hurricanes of 2005, but has recovered sufficiently to host the fourth installment of the race. Teams can expect some great paddling, challenging orienteering and fantastic scenery during the trekking and mountain biking. This race is a 12-16 hour race with final cut off 16 hours after race start. The start will be at midnight Saturday the 23 of February with the cutoff at 1600.

Registration is now open. Teams of 2,3 or 4 co-ed and same sex. Registration includes primitive camping, race shirt, post race food and sponsors swag bag.
