Date Announced for the Tahoe Winter Blue Adventure Race

Modeled after the extremely successful summer adventure series, the Tahoe Winter Blue is a multi-discipline event in which teams of two will utilize snowshoes and/or free heal skies to make their way around the winter wonderland of Northstar\'s previously inaccessable backcountry terrain in search of hidden checkpoints. Designed to be completed between 3-5 hours, the Tahoe Winter Blue provides an enjoyable experience for both professional athletes looking for physical challenge as well as recreational athletes looking for a playful day in the backcountry of the Sierra.
This season, the journey to create one of the finest mountain villages in North America (The Village at Northstar) will come to fruition with the launch of a pedestrian friendly village featuring 100 luxury condominiums, a variety of shopping options from stylish boutiques, art galleries and specialty retailers to a collection of cafes and restaurants all centered around a year-round ice skating rink. The Village will bring a revitalized energy to the resort with live music, special events, holiday festivities and a collection of fire pits, ideal for sipping hot chocolate and roasting s’mores or trading ski stories. New amenities will enhance the overall guest experience including a new skier service facility located at the heart of the Village, a concierge service, complimentary on-site shuttles and valet parking.
Those who like to shop will get their fix as many new and exciting retailers will be opening their doors this winter, including The North Face, Oakley, Butterbox—an edgy and chic lifestyle store featuring snowboard and fashion apparel, art galleries, two children’s boutiques, a bath and body store and more. After a day on the slopes, guests can satisfy their hunger at a virtual buffet of dining options throughout the new Village including Big Wave Burritos and Wraps- offering specialty burritos, wraps and salads, Earthly Delights- a bakery featuring artisan breads, pastries, espresso, and deli specialties, a fine dining restaurant featuring a nationally-recognized chef and a Sushi/Japanese Restaurant, all scheduled to open this winter/spring.
