Looney Toons and Brighton Rocks

Following the announcement of the first Rat Race Nine 2 Five event at Birmingham and the NEC, comes news of two more summer events, and they couldn’t be more different.

On June 28th, just before the holiday season gets into full swing, Brighton will host a seaside Rat Race with it’s HQ on the Seafront by the Palace Pier – so take your bucket and spade! Renowned for it’s regency splendour, fish and chips, Brighton Rock and Art Deco the town will offer ample scope for imaginative Rat Race planning and the first hint of what’s to come is a promise you’ll get wet – so pack your trunks too!

This event will also feature a new RR village entertainment - the “M.A.D R.A.T” mountain bike trials competition. There will be heats throughout the day with a final trials stunt spectacular when the best riders in the country go head to head.

The second new event is a city that has been in the sports news lately, and while Newcastle has seen Kevin Keegan before they’ve never seen anything like a Rat Race!

Tyneside will host the third Nine 2 Five with the promise of “running, biking, kayaking, parkour, navigation and some awesome ropes on one of the city’s most famous landmarks.” Rat base for the event is Baltic Square, sandwiched between the space age SAGE concert hall, the Baltic centre for contemporary arts and the Gateshead Millennium bridge and it all happens on August 30th.
