Nike ACG/Balance Bar Set Site for the Season

Team Nike ACG/Balance Bar have had a web site makeover for the year ahead, and the new site is as professional and impressive as the world’s ‘winningest team’ ... but unlike the team it’s not the fastest of sites.

That’s the result of using some great pictures and graphics, but the site is set up to provide lots of information as well, and should be a good place to follow the progress of the world’s highest profile team.

The individual biographies are as impressive as you’d expect, there hardly seems to be a big race that Mike Kloser, Danelle Ballangee, Ian Adamson and Micheal Tobin have not won between them. And there are only the 4 of them in the team, there is no ‘squad’ of athletes for Nike ACG/Balance Bar to choose from for their big programme of races in 2004.

They began well, winning the Extreme Adventure Hidalgo in Mexico last month and claiming well over US$20,000 prize money. Later in the year they plan to compete in the 4 richest and highest profile races of the year – Subaru Primal Quest, the Raid World Championships, Mild Seven Outdoor Quest, and, of course, the Balance Bar 24 Hour Series.

They are entered in the World Championship race at Raid the North Extreme as well, and with that selection of races the team will be competing against the very best from all over the world. They’ll be the team everyone wants to beat, but their consistency is legendary.

It’s not all racing though, the team are running a whole series of free 2/3 hour ‘clinics’ all over the USA to introduce racers to Sprint and 24 hour race formats. It’s part of Balance Bar’s support of Adventure Racing through team and their race series

There are already some Tips from the team on the site, with more to come, but quite a few sections of the site are waiting to be filled in and will grow during the year. These include Gear Reviews, Race Journals and ‘Nutritional Insights’.
