Melbourne City Romp

Press Release / 08.10.2008
Registrations are still open but close on 12 October so be quick. Teams can register HERE.

The ‘Go for your life’ Melbourne City Romp is part treasure hunt, part ‘Amazing Race’ and part puzzle.

Teams of between two and six people arm themselves with a map, a clue sheet and a mobile phone and have four hours to ‘romp’ around the city on foot and public transport solving clues to unveil the mysteries of Melbourne.

All Rompers have the chance to share in an impressive $100,000 worth of prizes, simply by participating. They will also be doing their bit for charity by raising funds for the Burnet Institute to continue its fight against the world’s most serious infectious diseases and cancers.

The Romp is not limited to Melbourne residents and event organisers encourage regional visitors to join in on the day. There is also an extra incentive, teams that travel more than 100km to participate in the Romp will go in the draw for a G.A.P. Adventures Travel Adventure worth $3,000.

The Romp is an accessible event open to people of all ages and abilities. Starting at Federation Square, teams will be issued with a clue sheet to lead them to checkpoints around the city at which they will be allocated a Romp Checkpoint Challenge. Points will be awarded for successfully completing these challenges.
