Team Spirit Rides Again

The Wenger Patagonia Expedition Race is in its 7th edition. Based out of Punta Arenas Chile the southern most inhabited city on this planet (I think), this race is a true wilderness expedition. And as such, it seems to have continuously drawn Canadian teams over the years.

Part of the draw is definitely the beauty of this part of the world. Patagonia is on the top of the outdoor travelers \"must do\'s\". And frankly, another draw of the race, is that the big teams skip it, so the format is more low key. There is no prize money. Folks that are more interested in the adventure part of adventure racing seem to show up.

This year, Dave and I have kept our 13-year racing partnership alive by joining with the most prolific Canadian racer, Jim Mandelli and, completely unknown to us, North Vancouver Aussie-gal Lucy Eykamp.

Already the race\'s title sponsor Wenger has contacted us and set us up with some sweet Ranger knives. Apparently the president of the company will also be at the race and compete alongside us for 1-day. Nice to see sponsors getting this involved.
