9th Edition of The Coast to Coast Challenge
Press Release / 11.02.2009

As in previous years we have designed a 10 Day Race Itinerary for teams coming from outside Costa Rica. You just need to show up, ready to race, and we will take care of the rest. In past years teams have brought family and friends to enjoy the country while watching the race. This year, in the design of the route, we have kept this in mind and have a great program for people joining the race.
The word from the route design team is that this year's race route is long but doable. They also say that teams can expect equal amounts of biking, trekking and paddling with at least 1 exciting ropes section along the way. As for highlights, they are giving away that the route will pass through the shadows of the active Arenal Volcano and that all teams will raft down the class III-IV rapids of the Pacuare River.
Registration for the race officially opened on Wednesday the 17th of December, 2008. The race field for this year’s race was limited to 25 teams but with tough economic times around the world there was talk that this year's race may be cancelled. We are pleased to announce that we have 10 teams signed up and the race is a go. The group is not as big as we hoped but enough to continue the tradition. We are still looking for more teams and would love to have you and your team join the fun.
You can find info on the race at www.ctocrace.com and read sleepmonsters coverage of the 2008 race.
