Lech new stage town of the 2009 GORE-TEX® Transalpine-Run
Press Release / 03.03.2009

The reason assigned for this change of the routing is the better capacity of Lech. About eight months prior the starting signal will be fired off, 90 teams coming from 20 countries have already registered in order to take up the challenge of crossing the Alps by foot.
The demanding character of the running event won’t be harmed by this resetting as this year’s opening leg leads from Oberstdorf via Fiderepass, Mindelheimer Huette, Schrofenpass, Warth and Bodenalpe to Lech am Arlberg. The participants have to face 33 kilometres peppered with 2.650 metres of elevation gain. In the eight days of the running classic, the teams have to conquer a total of 230 kilometres and 15.000 metres of elevation gain.
Registration still open
Those who want to put on the precious finisher jersey in Latsch once in their life time should secure one of the limited and much sought-after 250 entry spots right in time. An easy possibility for registration as well as more information can be found on www.transalpine-run.com
