Keen Adventure Race 2009 – The race will go on! New location due to Victorian bushfires.
Rapid Ascent - Naantali Marshall / 23.03.2009

The 2007 Keen Adventure Race – Along the Great Ocean Road, passed through a similar area but the new course will be just that – a new course with less than 5% overlap with the 2007 route. So if you did not do the first race, then don’t worry, you will not be disadvantaged and if you did race in 2007, we assure you although in relatively close proximity, the course is still quite different terrain but equally as exciting and interesting.
So what is in store for competitors in The Otway Ranges? Here you have spectacular forests with towering trees reaching for the sky and rainforest valleys filled with tree ferns, trickling streams and lush undergrowth. There are hills a-plenty, providing endless views up and down the coast, steep sided ravines and some stunning waterfalls - many of which will be visited as part of the race. And there is the coastline, providing a wealth of supreme ocean paddling past soaring cliffs, across protected bays and into picturesque beaches. Race Director, John Jacoby, has been working around the clock designing the new course in the area he is very familiar with having lived in the region for over a decade. His local knowledge is assurance alone that the race will be world class and highlight the best that this area is internationally famous for with the interests of adventure racers in mind.
