5th Réunion d'Aventures 9 - 15 May 2009
Press Release / 23.03.2009

This World Heritage classification appears obvious to all those of us who know the island of Reunion well, and the Reunion National Park is working towards the legitimate success of this candidacy.
Although the course is stupendous, it is nonetheless accessible to all nature sports enthusiasts thanks to the three categories whose differences are much greater than in past races. Thus, the Adventure category is a quarter less long than the Extreme category and – above all – the uphill difference will be 1/3 less for the Adventure teams.
That being said, all the competitors will be in the same adventurous atmosphere and will have a truly exciting experience packed with a great variety of activities, consisting of:
- Climbs that make the 36-32 gear ratio indispensable
- Descents that require great agility and good protective gear
- Cross-country for the best technical talents
