Economic decline – not for this local adventure
Media Release / 30.03.2009

Wutke’s business partner, Shawn Leclair says that despite their initial concerns in approaching their sponsors, about expansion, they have managed to secure all their core partners.
The event has typically had room for 200 entrants. In honour of the fifth year, the race organizers worked with the City of Port Moody to make room for an additional fifty spots. Leclair said, “We’ve been working with the same groups since the beginning. We have always had a small waiting list, but in light of the economy, we were unsure if our timing on an expansion was the right move. We took a chance in our approach and now even with a sell out, we have a waiting list.â€
The event has attracted racers from all over the lower mainland including Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, and Port Moody to compete in the solo and team of two categories.
Suburban RUSH is presented by G&F Financial Group and supported by CAPS Westwood Cycle, Different Bikes and the runners’ den.
