Renowned for its unique tropical beauty, the pacific coast of Jalisco is caressed by the crystalline waters of the pacific. The sandy beaches mark the beginning of the tropical rain forest, and the mountains climb to high peaks where the dark jungle gives way to cloud forests dominated by pine, oak, orchids and enigmatic creatures.

Whales, marine turtles, manta rays and dolphins are the original inhabitants of this coast. The ocean, jungle and mountains from the Costa Alegre to Banderas Bay will be the proving grounds of each team's resistance. The surrounding jungle and mountains are home to many creatures, including Jaguar, Guacamaya Parrots, Boa Constrictors and Tarantulas. The route will allow teams to explore both the natural beauty and the cultural gems of the Sierra. Many picturesque villages will be “discovered” by teams during the competition. This edition of A.R.M. places special emphasis on the ecosystem being traversed. Teams will experience firsthand the varied wildlife, plants and climates in this unique area. Focus is placed on the endangered Jaguar population, and the race should draw media attention to this and other species. Conservation efforts will be explained to racers and the press. Teams will help conserve this area for future generations.


The athletes selected to participate will have the privilege of forming part of a unique and impressive expedition race, where the motivation will be to compete and continue day after day, the challenge to each members own limits, the opportunity to confront a wild landscape, to explore and discover one of the densest jungles on earth. The competitors in A.R.M ADVENTURE RACE MÉXICO 2009 will live an experience that will become part of their lives. The winners will have the honor of being the best in one of the best Adventure Races in the World.
