The second race in the AREuroSeries has now taken place, and already 21 teams from 10 countries have participated. However we have yet to wait for a first team to participate in two races. As for now, the leadership is shared between winner of Ferrino Extreme Marathon OS-Direct and Team Herkules, who won Tieto Adventure.

The whole series started in Ukraine and news was slow to come from its deep forests. The race was composed from trekking stages that regularly switched with mountain biking. The only exception was a two hour rafting section. The race was decided in the longest trekking stage that took fifteen hours for the fastest team to complete. Ukrainian/Russian team OS-Direct passed Ukraine's Team Craft and gained a two hour lead. They later won by an impressive eight hour margin in exactly 76 hours. Polish team 360 Adventure and the Czechs of AlpinePro/Nutrend/Merida were fighting for the third place before this long stage. However, Czechs had to withdraw and Polish team came in third. Second place was secured by Craft Ukraine.

Tieto Adventure in Sweden was more open when it came to information about the race progress. Fans were able to follow it online thanks to live GPS coverage. Team Herkules from Sweden took the lead early in the race and did not let anybody in front of them until the end. Second place was secured by Norwegians of Merrell Haglöfs Multimania and third by IKSU Multisport 1 from Sweden.

Because mainly teams from Eastern Europe participated in Ferrino and Nordic teams in Tieto, we have yet to wait for the first team to race in two events. And it is going to happen soon. Several teams that are already in AREuroSeries result list will participate in the third race that will take place from June 12 to 14 in Russia. The Red Fox Adventure race might give a huge boost to those teams who make it to the finish line.

Shortly after that the most important of the races will be held in Slovenia. The first European Championships in Adventure Racing has already attracted 19 teams from 7 countries and it is very likely that some more will register. After that AREuroSeries will take a break until August and September when the Czech Adventure Race and the AR Poland Championship will finish the whole series.
