Fit-Out Firm's Get Fit Challenge
09.09.2009

The outdoor activity event, taking place against the rugged backdrop of Coniston Water in the Lake District, is to raise funds for Kidney Research UK, a charity close to the company's hearts and to provide a rather unorthodox networking opportunity for construction colleagues at the same time.
Charles Roland, Director at Salford-based The Freemont Group divulged "We're challenging construction men and women from all over the Northwest to pit-it out against us at Coniston. We're a tough team and would like to see who, if any, can rise to the challenge."
The exact format of the event, co-ordinated by adventure organisers Trail Plus will not be revealed until the day itself to add an element of surprise and keep the teams guessing in their training requirements. All that has been divulged so far is that teams of 4 will face a 5 hour challenge with mental and physical challenges taking place on land and water with points being awarded for success at the trials and for funds raised.
When questioned over why the company chose to support Kidney Research UK as their chosen charity, Charles revealed his first hand experience of the charity's excellent work. "My wife Tracey has unfortunately suffered from kidney disease since age 11 and has undergone three transplants in that time. Thankfully she's doing OK now but only because of the important work being carried out in kidney research to allow us to understand conditions better".
Charles also organised the company's involvement in the Bupa Great Manchester Run earlier this year (pictured), again to raise funds for Kidney Research UK.
The team behind the company's award winning rebrand at design agency Creative Lynx, are also getting involved, donating their time and services to help promote the event with a website, flyers and e-marketing campaigns. Speaking of their involvement Sue Crossley, Director at Creative Lynx said, "We've personally been touched by kidney disease and are grateful to be able to offer to help. And we're really looking forward to hearing all about it, in fact I'm sure between us all here we can rustle up a team to take them on...!"
The event will be held on Saturday 26th September at Coniston Water, The Lake District and details can be found at; www.freemontltd.co.uk/adventurechallenge
