The AR Ball is Back

Following successes of AR Balls in seasons past its time to dust of your posh frocks and buff those shoes. It was so successful last year it will be exactly the same format in the Lake District at the culinary home of UK Adventure Racing - Wilfs Cafe and the Hawkshead Beer Hall.

In addition, there will be entertainment from Striding Edge the superb Ceilidh Band. So support your sport and keep the vibe alive in the cold off season.....there has never been such an energetic group of willing dancers!


<b>Adventure Racing Ball</b>

- Date - Saturday 16th January 2010
- Location - Wilfs & the Hawkshead Brewery from 7pm
- Ceilidh from 8:45 pm
- Dress Code - It's a ball, so smart as you can - ideally Black Tie, Cocktail dresses (for the ladies) . Bring a comfortable pair of shoes for then the dancing really takes off! Or if you happen to get swung around by Bruce!
- Cost - £25 per head (Paid up front, as we have to pay deposits etc)

<b>The Rest of the weekend</b>

We are also organizing some voluntary activities for the rest of the weekend We need to know numbers for lunch bookings - so please tell us your plans. These will be on a website shortly for you to choose from.

Saturday Social Ride

-Meet at Ambleside Car Park opposite the Collage Campus
- Start 10.30 am
- Social ride to a Spud in Hawkshead (Extra cost paid to pub), with a choice of routes to suit abilities/motivation. We hope to have leaders for different levels once they volunteer themselves.
- All details to be confirmed nearer the date

Sunday Social Walk/Run

- Meeting at 9am Sharp for the fast ones, Between 9 -10 am for the rest.
- The fast ones (clearly didn't drink or dance enough) ones took on the Kentmere Horseshoe last year and various other runs left including one that went via swings and animal petting.
- All finishing with a lunch in the pub afterwards (Extra cost paid to pub)
- Lunch at 1pm to allow everyone to get home in reasonable time.
