Dark and White AR Series Starts Next Weekend

The first round of the 2010 DW4 Adventure Race series gets under way on the 14th March; the start venue is Edale and the event comprises a combination of mountain biking and trail running all within the spectacular surroundings of the Northern Peak District, Dark Peak.

Organised by local company Dark & White Events, the DW4 Challenge is four hours long and is open to solos and pairs of all levels of ability in a variety of categories. SPORTident electronic timing and scoring will be used giving competitors an instant print out of their results when they finish. The event will include extra ‘surprise challenge’ elements to keep competitors on their toes throughout!

Prizes for the 2010 DW4 Adventure Race series, which comprises 3 races, are supplied by Cotswold Outdoor, Skins & Buff; in addition there will be various spot prizes at each event.

So if you have a sense of adventure, are up for a challenge and enjoy being in the outdoors then this is the event for you!

The other races in the 2010 DW4 series will be held on the 9th May and 4th July 2010. The July event will take place at the Cliffhanger Outdoor Show in Millhouses Park, Sheffield.

Dark & White have organised the Rab Mountain Marathon (a 2 day fell running event) since 2007 - this event involves navigating between checkpoints over a two day period with an overnight camp. Last year the event attracted over 500 entrants.

They also organise a Winter and Summer mountain biking orienteering series’ with around 200 competitors on each event as well as mountain bike enduros and mini-mountain marathon running events.
