Tough Enough for the S.A.S.?
Rob / 14.03.2002

The latest ‘reality’ T.V. to feature a well known adventure racer is on now. One of the ‘volunteers’ (or is it contestants?) on the new BBC2 programme called ‘Tough Enough for the S.A.S’ is Anna McCormack.
Although not in evidence at too many U.K. races last year Anna was one of the winning ‘9feet.com’ team at Adrenalin Rush in Scotland and later in the year went to the Southern Traverse with Team Alstom. However, she missed out on the Discovery Channel World Championships as she was filming with the BBC.
As she signed a BBC contract (and perhaps the slightly less tightly worded Official Secrets Act) there was not much she could say before the series got underway – otherwise they would have to kill her, or worse, re-edit! We can tell you she had some helpful advice from fellow Alstom team mate and ex-military man Sir Ranulph Fiennes and came out of it feeling positive and self confident.
So, if you’ve ever wondered just how tough adventure racers really are watch it on BBC 2 on Sunday night at 9.00pm.
