Former Earthlink Captain Jets to New Adventures
06.04.2010

Retired elite international adventure racer Jason Middleton has found a way to maintain his sense of adventure through aviation, and the same determination which carried him through many Eco-Challenges has lead to the recent launch of his own executive private jet charter company.
Middleton was a professional triathlete by the age of 18 and went to compete in more than 150 endurance races all over the world. He took part in the first ever Eco-Challenge Utah, and raced that iconic event 8 more times, including the final race in Fiji in 2002. He was the founder and captain of Team Earthlink, one of the most successful teams of the Eco-Challenge era, but his travelling days did not end with his athletic retirement in 2004, far from it.
While racing he attended flight school, gaining his pilot’s license in 1999 and moving into a successful aviation career with jet charter companies and logging over 6000 flying hours.
Then in 2008 he sought funding for his own charter company, Silver Air, based out of Santa Barbara, a location which offers all he needs for his recreational thrill seeking. “It’s an adventurist’s dream place,†he said. “I can surf, kiteboard and cycle — it’s all here.â€
However, his work allows him other options and he has taken his bike on charters to Seattle and paraglided during his recent trip to Montana. Most of his clients use his 4 to 6 seater Cessna Citation jet for rapid transport to meetings and he frequently flies to San Francisco, Phoenix, Mexico and Canada.
For Jason Middleton racing may be past history, but he is still feeding his need for adventure and travel in his professional career.
