Quality field at Time Freight Multisport Series
Press Release / 21.06.2010

The women’s race saw some competitive racing with Jean Hackland (Jeep) leading off the first run before Jeannie Bomford (USN Hi-Tec) powered ahead on the bike leg and paddled her way to victory in a time of one hour, fifty-four minutes and 11 seconds. Hackland finished close behind in second while Robyn Kime recovered from a mechanical on the bike leg to take third place.
Jean-Pierre ten Napel (Jeep) held off a strong challenge from Tyronne White (Muscle&Fitness) in the Long Course Multi-X (5km trail run, 20km mountain bike, 2.5km trail run). White took the lead from ten Napel during the testing bike leg but could not hold off ten Napel whose running strength gave him the victory – just over a minute thirty ahead of White. Daniel Carleton placed third.
Young Melanie Palframan (Fox Wsquared) won the women’s Multi-X ahead of Comrades campaigner Kerry Koen (Jeep) with respected veteran Shawna Thunder third.
On the short courses, James Damant and Debra O’Brien were the respective winners of the Multi-X, Hayden Dowdall took the win in the Multisport ahead of Devon Smith and Craig Jarrett.
