Tri-Adventure Trail Launched
News Release / 07.09.2010

The Tri-Adventure Trail will combine trail running and navigation over 1 hour. Competitors must collect as many of the 10 checkpoints set over a 12k off road course as they can within the time limit. This event is ideal for runners with a spirit of adventure or competitors who haven’t made the step of buying a mountain bike.
Both the Tri-Adventure Sprint and Tri-Adventure Trail are ideal for beginners who want to try adventure racing for the first time through to elite racers who want to push themselves as hard as they can in the given time limit. With the events starting at 10am this gives competitors time to enjoy the outdoors whilst getting some exercise and still be home for Sunday lunch!
Both events will take place on the mountain biking mecca of the North Downs in Surrey, a short drive from central London. The extensive network of trails and bridleways make this an ideal destination for Tri-Adventure.
Tri-Adventure was created by Samantha and Jonathan Mayne. Samantha is the engine behind Tri-Adventure and having worked in the Leisure and Triathlon world for 4 years she saw a gap in the Adventure Racing market to put on a sprint event for racers to go harder and faster over a shorter period of time.
Jonathan has been an adventure racer for 10 years and has watched the sport move from 50 plucky Brits at Phil Humphreys' ACE Race series to thousands of competitors taking part in a variety of races all across the country and world. Jonathan was the course planner for Dynamic Adventure Racing for 3 years before a sabbatical year travelling the world and setting up his own business took precedent
The next events are being run from Peaslake Village Hall, Peaslake, Surrey on the 19th September, 17th October and the 28th November 2010.
