Questars in 2011

Details of the 2011 Questars Adventure Race Series have now been announced. Every Questars event in 2010 sold out with more participants talomg part in Questars events than ever before, so Quest is expanding the series further next year to enable more people to take part.

The first event in the 2011 Questars Adventure Race Series in the New Forest is always very popular so it’s again going to run on two days. Masters teams and those taking part in the Questars Duo event compete on Saturday 26 March and Novices on Sunday 27 March 2011.

Following the success of the first Q2 The Quest Challenge in 2010 there will be two of these weekend events in 2011 on 16 & 17 April and 8 & 9 October 2011.

Q2 is designed, like all Questars, to appeal to all comers from complete novices to the most experienced adventure racers. There’s a great deal of choice as to the distances and routes taken to enable everyone to set their own level of challenge. There’s rest and recovery time between the various parts that comprise this multi stage event. Expect some more novel innovations, formats and challenges. Q2 The Quest Challenge events include a campsite for those that wish to stay close to the event base.

All the other dates in the 2011 series are one day Questars events. On 21 May Questars will be in the fabulous Brecon Beacons. On 16 July Questars is returning to a favourite location, the Wiltshire Downs. The final event in the Questars series will be in another popular venue, the Cotswold Hills on 3 September.

Quest is also introducing a third type of event, known as QX. This is an off road Duathlon together with a trail run. QX will provide a great opportunity for some winter competition. The first QX event is in February 2011 and will take place in Berkshire.
