Primal Quest web site goes Interactive

The new Subaru Primal Quest web site is up and running, and promising great things. They want it to be the most interactive race site ever and are doing their bit to ensure it is. And if everyone looking at it is feeling interactive it should be entertaining.

Here is what Craig W. Irwin their I.T. Director had to say:

“The site sets a new standard in adventure racing web technology and interactivity,and will allow teams, crew, volunteers and spectators to get closer than ever to the world\'s richest adventure.

By registering as a member viewers will enter a never-attempted level of access to the race and the competitors. Each team will be the subject of separate message boards, where anyone can post and reply to messages with each other and with the team itself. During the race, friends and loved ones will be able to post real-time encouragement to their favourite teams, and the team will be able to reply in kind. The member function also allows anyone to post FAQs and request specialized information regarding the race, at any time.

The Teams function carries a thorough listing of each team entered, and will carry both racer biographies and team photos, as well as action photos of every team in the race. Also featured in the Team function is an email address for each captain, which will allow spectators, sponsors, and viewers direct access to each of these elite athletes.

One of the more fun functions is the Multimedia Zone; there, viewers can download a flash trailer that highlights the race overview and view a growing image gallery. Users can also fill out Adventure Cards - personalised postcards that carry the Subaru Primal Quest graphics and can be sent to any email address worldwide.

The Resource section carries critical information for the Subaru Primal Quest community, including extensive lodging information, volunteer and competitor updates, and even training tips.”
