Sydney Summer Series - Orienteering

Steve Cooper - SleepMonsters Aus / 04.01.2011
An institution in sydney amongst the orienteering set this event is a great series to get some experience on,and hone those nav skills.

As mentioned in the lead entry fees are $10 for opens and $8 for juniors, and that includes a map, extra maps can be purchased for $2.

The race venue changes every week and start times are flexible, so if you get held up at work its not a problem, the race also wont affect your weekend as you are racing on a wednesday night.

The preference is for individuals but groups are not excluded and families are welcome, refreshments are available and toilet facilities are often close by, you don't need any special gear apart from your normal jogging shoes and appropriate clothing (shorts and T-shirt are fine). Compasses (if needed) can be hired at the event and instruction is available to all first timers

The next race is tonite at Tannery Ck and will use the sport ident system which some of the Adventure Races have adopted, next weeks venue is Watsons Bay, a full calendar of event can be found <a href="#"onClick="javascript:newsitewindow('http://www.sydneysummerseries.com.au/#programme')"class="main">here</a>.
