The 2011 Mountains To Beach
Media Release / 27.02.2011

Riders can expect rather lush conditions with perhaps seed guards needing to be added to last minute equipment packing. With over 500mm of rain falling in the Snowy Mountains over the past 3 weeks, all rivers and creeks are flowing
Organisers Wild Horizons have been busy checking weather forecasts and water levels to determine whether any last minute route changes will be needed.
'Everything looks a picture right along the route' said Event Director Huw Kingston from Thredbo. 'The weather this week is perfect, so let's hope it holds out for the race, but certainly riders will get plenty of wet feet time. And that's before the salty 'bike wades' down the coast!'
The terrain offers its own rewards – from screaming downhill runs, lung busting climbs (who said it was all downhill to the coast!), lush rainforest, open farmland and even total darkness for Wednesday's Ay Up Dawn Raid. All before finishing with a spectacular run up the coast from Bermagui to Narooma on the Ground Effect Surf Safari.
The Mountains to Beach certainly has something for everyone.
