Mainpeak Multipsort

Media Release / 22.05.2011
Western Australia’s newest multisport event has been launched with the Mainpeak Multisport running, riding and paddling its way onto the endurance sport calendar, locking in for Sunday 25 September, 2011. Entries are now open at www.mainpeakmultsiport.com.au.

The multidiscipline event will match adventure with speed, and challenge with beauty, journeying from country to city through the beautiful Avon and Swan Valleys.

Mainpeak Multisport will combine the pursuits of trail running, road cycling and paddling together into one epic 158km race through stunning environments, starting at Toodyay (85km east of Perth CBD) and finishing within cooee of downtown Perth at Guildford (16km east of the CBD).

“It’s a fantastic course in a fantastic part of the world,” says Rapid Ascent Event Manager Sam Maffett. “And we reckon the best way to experience such beautiful terrain is by travelling through it under your own steam – specifically by foot, bike and kayak.”

“It’ll be a true challenge, especially for the individual entries who will inevitably have a few ‘hard yard’ moments, but with teams of up to six allowed to compete, we believe that it’s an accessible race for everyone, super fit or otherwise, up for a bit of adventure.”
