Swamp Stomp 2005 - $12,000 in cash and prizes

Cash and gear prizes will be awarded five deep in the premier, coed four-person division:
First Place: $2,500 total prize value (including $1,200 cash)
Second Place: $1,400 total prize value (including $800 cash)
Third Place: $900 total prize value (including $600 cash)
Fourth Place: $450 total prize value (including $300 cash)
Fifth Place: $250 total prize value (including $100 cash)
Medals and gear prizes from Montrail, Energice and Clif Bar worth more than $3,000 will be awarded in other categories.
Special prizes will also be awarded to the winners of certain race segments. Winners of the Suunto Orienteering Section will receive a Suunto and Red Bull Prize Pack. Winners of the Simon River Sports Paddle will receive an SRS wing paddle for each team member. Montrail will provide shoes for the winners of one of the foot sections and Rudy Project will provide glasses for the winner of one of the mountain biking sections.
Created and managed by the West Central Florida Adventure Racing Club (WeCeFAR) and Team E-Caps Florida, the event will take place in Hernando County, FL, on February 19th and 20th.
In its second year, the Swamp Stomp will offer off-road bicycling, trekking and trail running, paddling, bush whacking and orienteering through some of Hernando County’s most beautiful and remote terrain. Two and four-person teams will challenge spring-fed rivers, ancient sand dunes, palmetto prairie, marshes and eerie cypress swamps.
WeCeFAR is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to sharing and promoting the adventure racing experience. In addition to organizing the Swamp Stomp, WeCeFAR holds club races, skills clinics, and organizes workouts in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area.
