11th – 16th September: Annecy - Mont Blanc – Gstaad

At the end of the four stages of the World Cup, the qualifying teams will again go on to The Raid World Championship which this time will be in Europe. The location will be the exceptional beauty and diversity of the Alps, and the course will cross 3 countries.

Teams will cross the Alps’ most spectacular mountain ranges including the Massif of Mont Blanc - the Roof of Europe. They will cross crystalline lakes (Lakes Leman and Annecy) and pass through the most prestigious mountains resorts (Chamonix, Courmayeur and Gstaad). The course is expected to cover 500km, with the fastest teams completing it in 5 days. With 24,000 metres of climbing it will be the equivalent of climbing Everest three times over!

The X-adventure Raid World Cup 2005

To win a place in the Raid World Championship teams will have to quaify through these 4 World Cup races;

29th April – 1st May: WESTERN AUSTRALIA – Albany

Way down in the southern most part of the state of Western Australia, facing the Indian Ocean, lies the region of Albany, where a magnificent coastline, sprawling forests and swift-flowing rivers will host the first stage of the 2005 season. The three imposing mountain ranges that surround it (Mount Clarence, Mount Melville and Mount Adelaide) are sure to give even the most battle-hardened racers a few headaches ...

3rd - 5th June: SWEDEN – Riksgränsen

Beyond the polar circle, at the time of midnight sun with it’s endless daylight, Lapland becomes an ideal location for adventure-racing. This stage is held in the land of the Samis, in one of the last European regions where the concept of the “great outdoors\" still retains some meaning. Fjords, glaciers, mountains, plains and dense forests, complete with reindeers, will be the perfect theatre for this stage.
