MOMAR Cumberland: Getting lost was part of the adventure
Press Release / 02.10.2011

"Many racers got lost between checkpoints 3 and 4 by running past one of the turns," says MOMAR Race Director, Bryan Tasaka. "Some teams were lost for up to two hours in the dense coastal forest, but those racers all made it out on their own and sure have some great stories to tell."
Winning his ninth MOMAR title, Todd Nowack of Brentwood Bay came in first overall for the 50 km Enduro Course, crossing the finish line at 4:52:02. Along with others, Nowack spent about 20 minutes bushwhacking off the map, but managed to come out on top. His favourite part of the race was the mountain biking. "It's kind of a love-hate relationship with the trails here because they're so good, but on the other hand, they're so punishing," says Nowack. "I don't think there are more difficult trails in the world than here."
Team Renegades of Gunk, Hayden Earle and Roger Macleod of Victoria, came in second overall and first in the team of two categories, with a time of 4:58:13. Jeremy Grasby of Cumberland was third overall coming in at 5:04:59.
