Don’t Miss The adidas TERREX Endurance Night
Rob Howard / 16.11.2011

The night kicks off with the story of The Epic Tri. In April 2011, Ant Emmet and Bruce Duncan set out to complete a huge challenge – The Bob Graham Round: 65 miles, 42 Lakeland summits, 27,000ft climb within 24hrs. The John O’Groats to Lands End cycle ride: 874 miles, 60hrs. The Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race: 125 miles, 77 portages within 24hrs. All of this non-stop.
The night is a chance to hear their story at first hand, with planetFear’s Dave MacFarlane showing clips and out-takes from his film of their attempt. Those who are there will be supporting their cause too as £1 from each ticket sold for this event will go to the Epic Tri’s dedicated charity of Cancer Research UK. The pair set themselves the fundraising challenge of £25,000, and with Gift Aid are now just £500 short of reaching this. As the venue holds 500 a full house will ensure they hit their target.
That is not the end of the night however. The other special guest athlete and speaker is Ben Bardsley, who will present his take on Ski Mountaineering Racing and how his successful background as an established endurance athlete helped set him up for these gruelling races. (Ben was a regular with the Saab Salomon AR team for many years and holds many running and biking endurance records in the UK.)
There will also be gear and training equipment demos and adventure racing advice from experts in the venue on the night so it will be well worth the £12.50 ticket price.
The venue is The Dojo in Kendal with the show running from 17.30 to 19.30 and you can find out more and buy tickets <a href="#" onClick="javascript:newsitewindow('http://www.mountainfest.co.uk/programme-detail.cfm?programme=115')" class="main">here</a>.
