‘Shubi’ Guimarães Joins Ecomotion as Co-Race Director

Shubi Guimarães and Fubá Project – the brand agency of her brothers Tiago and Pedro, are the new partners of Ecomotion, Brazil’s premier adventure race.

The Guimarães brothers and sister, and Said Aiach, long time owner of Ecomotion, will gather their forces as partners in Ecomotion. Their objective is to use the oldest and most traditional adventure race in Brazil to enrich adventure sports and all the disciplines involved with nature in the country.

Said explains: “Besides being a great athlete, ‘Shubi’ is also a creative entrepreneur. Her background and international prestige, allied with Tiago’s experience, will bring more quality to the race and a greater capacity to explore the potential of the race in all its aspects; sport, education, lifestyle, social and environmental impact.”

Silvia “ Shubi” Guimarães and Said will be co- directors of the race. Shubi explains her decision: “Brazil has the potential to be a world leader in adventure racing with its natural advantages: geographical diversity, size, climate, landscapes and beautiful scenery. There is a demand from the public for more opportunities to practice outdoors sports. There are companies interested in investing in adventure racing as a platform to promote and develop action sports in the outdoors. Ecomotion has tradition, is a success story, is one of the favourite races in the world circuit and it’s the biggest race in Latin America. It’s a natural evolution of my life.”

Shubi adds to Ecomotion her experience as an athlete. She is founder of Team Atenah, the first all women team in the world; an Outward Bound Brasil Instructor; creator of Núcleo 16, the first adventure school in São Paulo for children and teenagers; and a Director of Clínica de Aventura, an adventure camp for children.

Fubá Project is a branding agency with experience working with companies like Nike, the International Billabong Group and its brands, Natura and general media; including the Alma Surf Festival, VOGUE, TRIP among others in the financial, technology, fashion and social arenas. They6 will focus on consolidating the Ecomotion brand as a platform to be associated with brands and companies; as well as creating and licensing content.
