Evans and George excited to take on Cederberg's Ride The Rock MTB race
Press Release / 17.01.2012

Top South African mountain biking duo, Kevin Evans and David George will be going solo the weekend of 10 -12 February 2012 when they take part in the inaugural Ride the Rock MTB Race in the beautiful wilderness area of the Cederberg.
According to Evans, the Cederberg is the one place where he has yet to ride. “I am really looking forward to this event. I have heard that the area is very beautiful and now I can experience it for myself. The race is in good time for our build up and should suit the type of racing we need to be doing. Our fitness by that stage in our training and build up should be really high. We will be racing the first round of the Marathon World Cup series the following weekend in Sabie, and so we will use 'Ride the Rock' as a good hard preparation for that. So yes, we will definitely be racing in the Cederberg. I actually have no idea what to expect on the day, but I think the toughest part will come from the terrain and the competition obviously. The next toughest may be having to leave the Cederberg,” says Evans.
For George racing in the Cederberg will also be a new experience. “I’ve heard so many stories from past races there, but have never actually ridden in the Cederberg. I am super excited for a new adventure. With regard to the toughest part of the race, it sure is going to be hot. Our main objective at Ride The Rock will be to test our bodies and bikes to their limit,” says George.
