Kona Odyssey
Media Release - Rapid Ascent - Chris Ord / 10.02.2012

Friends of those competing in this year’s Kona Odyssey mountain bike marathon will now be able to track the progress of the race from afar with the introduction of live tracking of elite riders, live splits for all riders and automatic post event upload of rider photographs on Facebook.
Six elite males and four elite females will be tracked live for the duration of the 100km race in a move that race organisers say is all about bringing mountain biking to the people. The elite tracking will allow anyone gathered in The Results Centre at the Forrest, Vic, football ground, or watching live via the Internet at home to see who is leading and when the decisive attacks are made.
Also uploaded to the web will be the timing splits for all riders on course whenever they cross a timing point out on the course, of which there are six dedicated points on the 100km course and four points on the 50km course, so friends and family back at home can keep track of progress.
