Salomon Keep On Running St. Wendel
News Release / 16.04.2012

Between October 5 and 7, 2012, the town of St. Wendel in Germany's Saarland will be hosting the fourth edition of the SALOMON KEEP ON RUNNING. With more than 800 runners, this weekend will again be all about trail running. Aside from the CityNight-Sprint, Spiemont-Trail Bosenberg-Trail, the event will for the first time feature an introductory trail for beginners.
Three days – Three races
On Friday, October 5, 2012, the trail running weekend gets underway with its 3.1 km long CityNight-Sprint across an illuminated city center. Obstacles such as stairs, tree trunks and steep curves offer great variety on the course.
Saturday's Spiemont-Trail will then take runners into the woods of Nature Reserve Saar-Hunsrück. The 30.7 km long course across the woods and meadows around St. Wendel with its total of 676 m of difference in elevation is no less impressive than an Alpine trail.
The third day of the running weekend will focus on the Bosenberg-Trail featuring a distance of 21.1 km and 592 m of difference in elevation. The course may be a mere 10 kilometers shorter than the one from the day before, but due to numerous steep climbs this trail is no less challenging.
Depending on their level of fitness, participants may start on one or two of the courses or arrive at the finish on Sunday as a finisher of the Triple-Trail, which consists of the CityNight-Sprint, Bosenberg-Trail and Spiemont-Trail.
All New – Introductory Trail
This year's event will for the first time offer an introductory trail for all trail running newbies on Sunday, October 7. “With this diverse, 10 km long course we want to offer all casual runners the opportunity to find out about trail running on off-road trails away from paved roads,” says Anika Stephan, project manager of PLAN B event company.
With the support of the sports city of St. Wendel in Germany's Saarland, this trail running weekend organized by PLAN B event company GmbH has since its premiere in 2009 developed to a treasured Trailrun-Event. One reason surely lies in its surprisingly diverse trails, another one is the family atmosphere of this charming little town. Both casual runners as well as pros are fascinated by the SALOMON KEEP ON RUNNING ST. WENDEL.
No matter if you're a roadrunner or trail specialist - everyone who enjoys running and wants to discover the best trails of Germany's Saarland can participate.
Registration for the 4. KEEP ON RUNNING ST. WENDEL is as of now open at www.keep-on-running.com
