The Unique Trail Event Is Back In Dortmund

Pure running fun is in store for you when the huge oval of the Westfalenhalle Dortmund is transformed in a special trail running parcours for the second time from February 22- 24, 2013. Tons of soil, sand, stones, trees and even snow make the around 1.3 kilometer long indoor trail an adventure for young and old. Both professionals and real newbies were impressed by the premiere of the ECCO INDOOR TRAIL 2012. But now the organizers PLAN B event company and RUNNER'S WORLD take it up a notch.

The ECCO INDOOR TRAIL's concept is unique worldwide and it amazed about 1,500 participants last year. In 2013 too, the two trail planners Stephan Repke and Joscha Forstreuter will whip up a varied and exciting parcours in the hall out of all materials that wait for real trail runners in the nature. Forests, meadows, debris fields, mud, snow, sand, a rope bridge and even a real 3,30 meters high mountain await the participants. "We can use an additional hall this time, which we would like to use accordingly, of course. The trail plans are already finished and we can't wait to realize them in practice. So the trail running fans can look forward to our ideas for the second ECCO INDOOR TRAIL", Fortstreuter said. 

There are again different trails in the 2013 program: the sprint-competition over ca. 1,3 km, the 6km trail and the 12km run. If you take part in all three of them, you might even get the title "Trail Queen" or "Trail King" in the end. Moreover, there are lots of attractive side events such as the ECCO Family Race, the BLACK DIAMOND Night on Trail or the relay race. The perfect trail running weekend will be rounded off with the only trail running fair in Germany. Almost all relevant trail running brands will present their latest products and let the visitors put them through their paces for three days.   

A Premiere For The RUNNER'S WORLD Trail Award 

As a very special highlight RUNNER'S WORLD invites you on Saturday evening to the awards ceremony of the first trail award for products in the category footwear, clothes and accessories. "So far 28 producers have applied and their applications will be examined carefully by an eight-member experts jury.  Lots of these brands will be present at the ECCO INDOOR TRAIL, since not only the experts but also the visitors in the Westfalenhalle have the opportunity to test and evaluate the products," Urs Weber, editor of RUNNER'S WORLD and initiator of the Trail Award, explained.
