The non-profit Adventure Racing Resources (ARResources) announced that it has secured access to adventure race liability insurance for 2005 and 2006. As in the past, the insurance is procured directly by race directors from McKay Insurance Agency.

“ARResources is very excited that we were able to secure an event liability package that is both affordable and available for the foreseeable future”, commented ARResources Director Jim McTasney. This ensures that Race Directors have access to event insurance for the entire 2005 season, a time frame that is rare in this market place due to the annual renewals that we and other organizations have been stuck with in the past. Furthermore, the insurance pricing still allows ARResources to continue its practice of not charging any racer license fees.

Information on the ARResources Sanctioning and Safety Programs, including the industry leading Participant Responsibility Model, is available from the ARResources Website at www.arresources.org. Most aspects of the insurance package remain unchanged from 2004, including that race organizers deal directly with the insurance company, and are not required to solicit or collect any licensing or other fees from their racers, volunteers or other event participants.

Specific details on the ARResources Adventure Racing Insurance are available from the McKay Insurance Agency website at www.mckayinsagency.com or by phone at 1-800-942-0283.

ARResources was created in 2001 by several grassroots adventure race organizers seeking a viable alternative to the limited for-profit sanctioning services available at that time. As the organization has grown, it has expanded to fulfill the risk management and informational needs of its membership. The sanctioning fees collected by ARResources support the risk management programs and educational materials created for adventure race organizers and their participants.

ARResources contributions to the adventure racing community include the definition and promotion of the Participant Responsibility Model, which has significantly improved this sport’s access to liability insurance.

ARResources is a registered Non-Profit 501c6 organization, and is owned and controlled by its membership. Contact director@arresources.org to learn more about ARResources, or visit the ARResources website.
