Boa Sponsors Leadville Trail 100 MTB Race
News Release / 05.04.2013

Boa Technology Inc., maker of the award-winning, patented Boa® Closure System, has signed an agreement with Life Time Fitness to sponsor the Leadville Trail 100 and Leadville Silver Rush 50 mountain bike races taking place August 10 and July 13, respectively, in Leadville, Colorado. Boa Technology will also award a coveted spot to the sold-out 2013 Leadville Trail 100 MTB race through the “The Ride That Changed It All” Facebook campaign.
To enter, participants go to Boa’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/BoaLacingSystem and submit a personal cycling photo or video along with a 200-word-or-less story about the "ride that changed it all,” which could be about their first time on a bike, their most heinous wipeout, best biking adventure or most memorable ride. Essays will be judged on creativity and how well the story reflects the degree to which the writer values bike riding.
Four-time winner of the Leadville Trail 100 (and women’s course-record holder) Rebecca Rusch, who wears the Boa Closure System on her Specialized cycling shoes, will select the winning essay.
The winner, announced on May 9, will receive a free entry to the 2013 Leadville Trail 100-mile MTB race and a pair of Specialized S-Works MTB shoes featuring the Boa Closure System. Three runners-up will receive a limited-edition Boa-branded cycling jersey.
Boa Technology will exhibit at both races, where attendees can take advantage of the “Upgrade To Boa” offer, which allows people to trade the shoes on their feet for Boa-powered footwear. Used shoes will be donated to One World Running and Mountain2Mountain, two Colorado-based non-profits serving people domestically and abroad.
Boa will also capture finish-line photographs of each racer the Leadville Trail 100-mile race and post them on Boa’s Facebook page, where they can be downloaded or shared on social media.
